Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that unprecedented development took place in Gorakhpur due to the working together of the like-minded government at the Centre, State and Municipal Corporation.
He said it is because of their efforts that one has been able to create an environment of security. People’s perception changed. Gorakhpur is no longer a city of jams, filth, mosquito-mafia.
Rather, it is recognized as a safe and smart city. To take this identity further, it is very necessary to have a triple engine government here, he added.
CM Yogi was addressing a public meeting in favor of BJP’s candidates for the post of mayor and councilor at the town hall on Monday evening regarding the municipal elections.
The Chief Minister said that once upon a time, mafiagiri and misery had become the identity of Gorakhpur. Whether it was the government of brothers and sisters or that of aunts and uncles, everyone had left it in this condition.
Crime was at its peak, there was problem of jam and filth, electricity was available only for three-four hours. Whereas today extortionists beg for life by hanging a plank around their neck. Street vendors are given the benefit of PM Swanidhi Yojana.
CM Yogi said that there is nothing to feel bad about in Gorakhpur today due to having a government of similar ideology. If you want, call it knowledge city, medical city, business city, industrial city, tourism city. Call it an overall developed smart city.
he said – It is one of the few cities to have four universities of high standard. There is a long list of engineering colleges, polytechnics, ITIs, degree colleges. Construction of Sainik School, which gives a sense of pride, is also going on at a fast pace. Atal Residential School is ready for the best education for the wards of registered laborers and destitute children from Corona. Admission will also be done from this session itself. The Chief Minister said that the construction of Hotel Management Institute and Veterinary College would also start soon.
He said that super specialty service is being provided at BRD Medical College, which itself was ill seven years ago. AIIMS, once a dream for Gorakhpur, is also providing high-end medical care on a large scale. Regional Medical Research Center has been opened in Gorakhpur for investigation and research of known and unknown diseases. Encephalitis has been eradicated.
CM Yogi said that along with making Ramgarhtal a beautiful tourist center, a water sports complex has been built near it. Water sports competition of universities across the country is also going to be held in Ramgarhtal this month. Remember the Rajghat of Rapti river. There used to be so much dirt. Today the ghats on both sides have also become the center of tourism. Aarti is also happening there now.
The Chief Minister said that respecting the aspirations of the citizens, the government has started the work of covering 32 villages with urban facilities on a war footing by including them in the Municipal Corporation. With the expansion of boundaries in five Nagar Panchayats in the district, the government formed three new Nagar Panchayats. Development works worth crores of rupees are being done under the CM Nagar Srijan Yojana and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsh Nagar Panchayat Yojana in the new panchayats and border extension bodies.
The Chief Minister said that security, traffic and cleanliness are being monitored from the Integrated Command and Control Center in Gorakhpur today. 25 city buses are being run in the city area alone. Four lane, six lane roads and flyovers are being constructed as per the requirement. The CM said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban, Gorakhpur has got the gift of 22344 PM houses in Municipal Corporation area alone and more than 17 thousand PM houses in Nagar Panchayats. To enrich the business of street vendors living in the city area, the benefit of PM Swanidhi Yojana has been given on a large scale. In the Municipal Corporation area alone, more than 25,000 street vendors have got the benefit of PM Swanidhi Yojana. Projects worth Rs 519 crore were given for drinking water and sewerage. Every house in Gorakhpur is being connected to the tap.
There will be no water logging even in 72 hours of continuous rain
The Chief Minister said that earlier there used to be water-logging in Gorakhpur with little rain. Today the government is engaged in a permanent solution to the problem of water logging. The Tarkulani regulator was made in such a way that there would not be an inch of water-logging even in continuous rain of 72 hours. Now work is also being done on the beautification of the Godhoiya drain. A drain will also be built and roads will also be built on both sides of it.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the country a new identity in the world. With his inspiration, many development works were done and are being done to give new identity to Gorakhpur.
BJP’s appeal to form a full majority board
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to the people present in the public meeting to form a full majority board of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Municipal Corporation Gorakhpur and all the town panchayats of the district. He said that the way the people of the state gave two-thirds majority in the Vidhansabha and its impressive results are in front of everyone. Similarly, there should be two-thirds or three-fourth majority of the board in the Municipal Corporation. Describing voting as a democratic duty on this occasion, the Chief Minister said that no matter what the weather, one must reach to vote on time and also inspire others.
