Lucknow: American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) members Dr. Smita Joshi, Dr. Shukla Rawal and Dr. Sumal Rawal paid a courtesy visit to the State Governor Anandiben Patel at the Raj Bhavan and inspired by the social activities of the Governor, they met her and also invited for AAPI Global Health Care Summit Women Forum to be held in Manipal, Karnataka.
It is known that the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin includes 01 lakh physicians of Indian origin who practice in America. Dr. Suman Rawal, Secretary of AAPI, is the world’s first Gujarati neuro-oncologist. AAPI member Dr. Smita Joshi informed that the organization is also running a public awareness campaign to eliminate the need for glucometer needles used for children with type one diabetes.
In this context, the Governor was also invited by the members of AAPI to the proposed conference in New York in the coming July.
During the meeting, Dr. Smita Joshi told that the campaign launched in Uttar Pradesh by Governor Anandiben Patel to vaccinate girls for the prevention of cervical cancer in women and to make the state TB free by providing nutritional support to TB patients by adopting them. The innovative initiative taken is very inspiring in the medical field.
