Governor Anandiben Patel reviews presentation for NAAC accreditation of Siddharthnagar University
Lucknow: The Governor and Chancellor, Anandiben Patel reviewed the presentation for NAAC accreditation of Siddharthnagar University, Kapilvastu, Siddharthnagar at Pragya Kaksha at Raj Bhavan. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Hari Bahadur Srivastava apprised the Governor that this university was established in the year 2015 and in the year 2020, the qualification of NAAC grading has been achieved after completing 5 years. Preparations have been made to file self study report for NAAC evaluation of the university.
In the meeting, the Governor, while reviewing all the seven criteria, took information from the members of the NAAC team of the university about their academic experience, research work and motivated them to make better use of the experiences in the interest of the university. She said that though the university is newly established, it is full of experienced principals. Even after being newly formed, all the experienced principals should cooperate with the new principals with their contribution. She said that with better team spirit, all the committee members should work in mutual coordination and empower the report of presentation.
The Governor directed the presentation to substantiate each point with details, targeting the lack of detail mention on various points. She also gave various guidelines to the team members in this regard. She said that the heads of the criteria should study the SSR report of other NAAC grading universities and improve their presentation while improving their university. She directed all the team members to sit together and prepare, in which the report could be strengthened by equitable exchange of reports and facts with mutual coordination.
In the course of the review, the Governor has made available the facilities available on the Internet link of the university containing other resources to the students and to organize the record of their access, linking the university with the international educational facilities available virtually, better description and activity photos of the presentation. Directed to add detailed mention and proof in hyper links on all points. She told about the usefulness of NAAC accreditation of the university and asked the students to encourage them to participate in their activities.
The Governor asked to make strict barcoding on the answer sheets of the university, to mention its features in detail, to purchase Hindi translated text book for Hindi medium students from the center, to show the detailed description and arrangements of the classes of scholars in the report, research while discussing in detail on making the policy, instructions were given for improvement.
She directed to mention the number of students in increasing order from the year of establishment of the university till now. She also gave innovative suggestions for various activities in Best Practice. According to the talks held with the Indian ambassadors of 15 countries for cooperation of universities of Uttar Pradesh, she asked the university to contact them for capacity building.
She said that the university should improve its grading in this direction by giving talks and MoUs on all other necessary subjects including virtual cooperation, cooperation in classes and faculty, mutual movement of students and other important topics.
In the meeting, the Governor directed to strictly implement all the reforms given during the criteria wise review and said that the teachers should consider in the interest of the students. She said that all the members should fix their responsibility and ensure a continuous tradition of NAAC evaluation by making a system of providing data marking every year. She said that SSR should be filed only for getting highest grade of NAAC with strong preparation.
On this occasion Principal Secretary to Governor Kalpana Awasthi, Officer on Special Duty Education Pankaj Johny, members of NAAC evaluation preparation team constituted by the University and other officers were present.
