Grand Inauguration of 69th Stage UP State Table Tennis Championship

Bareilly: The 69th U.P. State Table Tennis Championship 2022 had a grand opening at Sri Ramamurthy Smarak College of Engineering and Technology in the presence of Chief Guest Engineer Subhash Mehra, District Table Tennis Association Secretary Dr. Deependra Kamthan, Tournament Director NK Lahiri, Chief Referee Amit Singh, Deputy Referee Akash Yadav, All India TT Junior Team Selector Parag Agarwal and Dean Academics Dr. Prabhakar Gupta.
The inauguration was done by cutting the ribbon and paying floral tribute to the freedom fighter Late Shri Ramamurthy. Engineer Subhash Mehra described sports as necessary for the all-round development of the youth and congratulated the players participating in the 69th Stage UP State Table Tennis Championship.
He said that table tennis is a game of concentration and it develops 360 degree players. Dr. Prabhakar Gupta welcomed the guests along with all the participants participating in the championship. He informed about the sports being organized by SRMS Trust and called it necessary for the youth.
He said that sports gives us the inspiration to win along with defeat. Deependra Kamthan gave information about the 69th Stage UP State Table Tennis Championship organized by the UP Table Tennis Association. He said that it was not possible to organize this championship during the last two years during the Covid epidemic. However, all other sports competitions were also postponed during this period. This time again the State Table Tennis Championship is being organized here in collaboration with SRMS Trust.
As per the instructions of UP Table Tennis Association and under the aegis of District Table Tennis, Sri Ramamurthy Memorial Trust is organizing this championship for the eighth time in SRMS CET in memory of freedom fighter Sri Ramamurthy. 325 players from 25 districts are participating in this. Convenor of the championship Dr. Sovan Mohanty thanked the guests along with all the players participating in the championship.
He said that women, men, boys and girls are participating in 12 events of this championship. Sports officers of SRMS Engineering College Nitin Saxena and Shankar Pal Gangwar were also present on the occasion.
