Grand spectacle awaits city folk at Lucknow’s Raj Bhawan

Lucknow: The biggest fruit, vegetable and flower exhibition of the state to be held every year in the Raj Bhawan premises will be organized from February 17 to February 20.

This year’s 54th Regional Fruit, Vegetable and Flower Exhibition will be inaugurated by  Governor and Chief Minister of the state. Minister of State for Horticulture (Independent Charge) Dinesh Pratap Singh will also be present on this occasion. The exhibition will be opened for public viewing after its inauguration on February 17, 2023.

Director Horticulture and Food Processing Dr. R.K. Tomar said that a total of 48 classes and 628 participants are participating in the Regional Fruit, Vegetable and Flower Exhibition.

The exhibition is divided into two parts according to the schedule. Part-1 has been divided into 13 classes and 139 classes, under which competitions for vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, fruit preservation, honey and betel leaves, etc. are being organized.

Part-2 is divided into 35 classes and 489 classes, under this are evergreen leaves and flowers. Ornamental, medicinal plants, other seasonal flower pots, potted vegetable, competition of artistic group of pots, different species of flowers produced in polyhouse, competition of cut flowers of rose and dahlia etc., medicinal succulents, competition of bonsai plants, individual and Competitions have been organized for government residences, government offices, educational institutions, public parks and ancient and historical gardens and photography etc.

He told that the regional fruit. A total of 16740 exhibits have been entered by 2181 participants in various districts including Lucknow till the evening in vegetable and flower exhibition.

Rs 51,000 will be given to the first winner, Rs 31,000 to the second winner and Rs 11,000 to the third winner in the exhibition. An amount of Rs 11,000 has been fixed for the Best Display Award for all other categories. Display of artistic groups of pots and photography competition will be the centers of special attraction.
