Greater cooperation required to be able to stem Road Accidents – Dayashankar Singh
Lucknow: The Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) of Uttar Pradesh, Dayashankar Singh, along with the representatives of the country’s major manufacturing companies and departmental officers for the automation and operation of the Driving Training Testing Institute (DTTI) being built in 14 divisional districts, in the auditorium room of the Transport Corporation Headquarters held a meeting. He urged the representatives of reputed companies of the country to do track automation and operation of 14 DTTI centers under construction by themselves through CSR fund.
The Transport Minister said that road accidents happening in the country and the state is a serious matter. Along with the government, it is the responsibility of all of us to cooperate with the government in preventing these accidents. He said that the Transport Department will set up a DTTI center and hand it over to interested companies for track automation and operation. The company will have to arrange automation of simulator track, training vehicles (LMV, bus and truck) etc. through CSR fund.
On the request of the Transport Minister, the representative of Ashok Linen Company told that a proposal has been made for Muzaffar Nagar and Meerut. Similarly, the representative of Bajaj Company told that he has given proposal for Ayodhya and Gorakhpur. Apart from the said company, the representatives of other companies requested to be given a week’s time to give their consent after the internal meeting for the expenditure of CSR fund.
The Transport Minister said that the government is concerned to prevent accidents happening in the state. In this sequence, today’s meeting has been called. He said that for the quality of training, the government wants to associate reputed companies with the department. He said that all of you have experience of working in other states as well. Along with this, all of you are also connected with the Transport Department.
The Transport Minister also took information from the officials about the reasons for the delay in the driving license and RC and gave instructions to speed it up. He said that till the receipt of DL and RC, the consumer can show the records of the vehicles available on DG Locker and M Parivahan App to the officials of the Regional Police and Transport Department. Also directed that the officers of Regional Police and Transport Department will not force such consumers to show physical DL and RC.
He said that the records of vehicles available on the DG Locker mParivahan app would be considered valid only until the physical DL or RC is received by the consumers.
Principal Secretary Transport/MD Transport Corporation Venkateshwar Lu, Transport Commissioner Chandbhushan Singh and other departmental officers were present in the meeting.
