Hackathon for Gen – Z promises to open frontiers

Lucknow: A four-day ‘Coding and Programming Hackathon’ began  under the Samsung Innovation Campus at Faculty of Engineering, Lucknow University.

The chief guest present at the Hackathon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. AK Singh said that in today’s time there are immense opportunities for employment and research in the field of Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Data Science, Block Chain.

This hackathon is providing a platform to the students to test their academic learning in real world problem-solving, which will also increase the interest of the students in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.

On the other hand, Dr. Himanshu Pandey, in-charge of the placement cell of the university, said that the hackathon will not only provide competitive ability to the students but will also prepare them for upcoming opportunities in the field like coding and programming. The hackathon started with a briefing and familiarization session.

After the briefing, the most important and interesting phase of the hackathon ‘Defining the Problem’ started, in which the ‘Problem Statement’ was explained to all the contestants participating in the hackathon. After which 39 teams were formed and they were asked to choose the problem statement accordingly.
