Hammer throw, discus throw stars shine bright at KIUG 2022

Lucknow: Tania Choudhary of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut won gold medals in women’s hammer throw and Shalini Chaudhary of Barkatullah University, Bhopal in women’s discus throw with a record breaking performance in Khelo India University Games Uttar Pradesh 2022.

Also in Men’s Javelin Throw, Vikrant Malik of KIIT won gold medal with 80m throw despite being injured, which is his third consecutive gold medal.

On the other hand, in men’s shot put, Samardeep Singh Gill of Barkatullah University, Bhopal created a new KIUG record by winning gold with a throw of 18.75m. In women’s 100m hurdles, Pragyan Prashant Sahu of KIIT created a new KIUG record with a timing of 13.63.

In men’s decathlon, Kushal Kumar Mohite of Shivaji University also created a new KIUG record.

In Men’s 400m, Nitin Kumar from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut won the gold medal with a timing of 47.39. On the other hand, in the men’s javelin throw, Avinash Yadav of Purvanchal University, Jaunpur threw 67.42 m. Won silver medal with throw. The gold medal in this category was won by Vikrant Malik of KIIT with a throw of 80m. Kajal Sharma of Lucknow University won bronze medal in women’s 3000m steeplechase.
Apart from this, in the men’s javelin throw, Vikrant Malik of KIIT won the gold medal with 80m throw, beating R Nehra of Ram Manohar Lohia University’s 76.64m in 2022. Throw’s record was broken. In the men’s tennis final, Anna University retained the title by defeating Bharathiar University, Coimbatore 2-1 in a thrilling match.

Tania Choudhary of Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut won the gold medal with a throw of 60.61m in the women’s hammer throw event being played at the Synthetic Athletics Stadium of Guru Gobind Singh Sports College.
With this, he created a new record in the Khelo India University Games (KIUG Games). The previous record was won by S.Vedpathak of Lovely Professional University with a throw of 54.40m in the second edition of these games in 2022 in Bengaluru. In men’s hockey, Punjabi University and Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar made it to the finals.

Shalini Chowdhary of Barkatullah University, Bhopal won the gold medal in the finals of women’s discus throw held today under Athletics, creating a new Khelo India University Games (KIUG Games) record with a throw of 50.60m. He broke the record of 47.07 meters in these games held in 2022.

Apart from this, in the morning session itself, Sahil of Punjabi University won the men’s 20 km race walk with a timing of 1.27.52.35 and Ajay Kumar of KIIT, Bhubaneswar won the men’s hammer throw with a time of 58.27. Achieved golden success with the throw.

Women’s Tennis: SPPU won gold by defeating defending champion Osmania University

Savitri Bai Phule Pune University (SPPU) defeated the defending champion Osmania University one-sidedly 2-0 in the women’s finals in the finals of tennis played today at the Tennis Court of Ekana Sports City, breaking the dream of defending its title.
