Harmanpreet Kaur is first Indian cricketer to play 150 T20 Internationals

New Delhi: Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has become the first cricketer (male or female) to play 150 T20 Internationals. Kaur achieved this feat in the match against Ireland in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

“It (playing 150 T20 matches) means a lot, I got an emotional message from my teammates,” Harmanpreet said after winning the toss and electing to bat in their last group match of the tournament against Ireland. Thanks to BCCI and ICC for letting me play so many matches.

Apart from this, Harmanpreet became the first Indian and fourth overall in women’s cricket to complete 3000 runs. In the list of players with most T20 matches, New Zealand’s Suzie Bates is second with 143 matches, while England’s Danny Wyatt is third with 141 matches.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma is the cricketer with most number of T20 international matches in men’s cricket. He has played 148 T20 International matches. He is followed by Shoaib Malik (124) of Pakistan and Martin Guptill (122) of New Zealand.
