Harvard University to help upscale Higher Education Institutions in Uttar Pradesh
Lucknow: The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is preparing to make changes in the education system of the state. In order to improve the education of universities and colleges, a plan is being made to train teachers from experts from Harvard University. Yogi government may soon sign MoU with America University.
Incubation centers set up in 24 universities
In fact, the Union Ministry of Education is making continuous efforts to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Recently, in a presentation on behalf of the state government to the Ministry of Education, it was said that they are in the process of taking the help of experts from Harvard University for training the teachers of their colleges. Work is being done at several levels to implement the provisions of NEP on behalf of the higher department.
E-content studios and incubation centers are being set up in colleges and universities in the state. E-content studios have been established in two universities, while it is being set up in the Directorate of Higher Education. At the same time, incubation centers have been set up in 24 universities, which are helping more than 200 startups. These steps will show improvement in learning technology in the higher education sector.
Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Monika S Garg informed that one crore rupees have been approved for setting up of e-content studio in the Directorate of Higher Education campus. E-learning parks have been set up in 119 government colleges to promote digital teaching and learning.
She said that since 2021, universities and colleges have signed more than 500 MoUs with small and big industries and other institutions under MSME in the state. Adding that the colleges would also work for providing compulsory internship to graduate students in both technical and non-technical courses as per the rules of the University Grants Commission (UGC). Efforts are being made for this rapidly.
