Lucknow: A major part of the Yogi Adityanath government budget revolves around healthcare, at times when the country is rattled by the global Corona pandemic. CM Yogi has proposed a budget of Rs 1950 crore for new medical colleges under construction in several districts of UP in the budget of 2021-2022. The amount was proposed in the budget for new medical colleges under construction in 13 districts of Bijnor, Kushinagar, Sultanpur, Gonda, Lalitpur, Lakhimpur-Kheri, Chandauli, Bulandshahar, Sonbhadra, Pilibhit, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat and Kaushambi.
In budget of 16 unserved districts, an amount of Rs 48 crore has been made in the budget to run medical colleges in PPP mode and Rs 23 crore for National Digital Health Mission. A budget of Rs 960 crores has been proposed for starting the teaching session from July 2021 in medical colleges under construction in Etah, Hardoi, Pratapgarh, Fatehpur, Siddharthnagar, Deoria, Ghazipur and Mirzapur.
New medical colleges will be built in Amethi and Balrampur with an amount of Rs 175 crore. An arrangement of Rs 100 crore has been made in the budget for the establishment of Atal Bihari Bajpai Medical University in Lucknow.
A Bio Safety Level-4 Lab under the Institute of Virology and Infectious Diseases in Lucknow has been announce. And an Advanced Diabetes Center at SGPGI, Lucknow. An amount of Rs 100 crore was made in the budget to provide medical facilities for incurable diseases. Supply of certified and quality medicines in Ayurvedic and Unani hospitals will be strengthened with two state drugstores in Lucknow and Pilibhit.
