Health Services take a turn for the better in Uttar Pradesh shows survey

Lucknow: Yogi Adityanath  government’s One District, One Medical College scheme, which is trying to improve the health services of Uttar Pradesh, has started showing its effective effect. These things have come to the fore in a survey conducted by the Medical Education Department.

Principal Secretary Medical Education Alok Kumar said that there has been a lot of improvement in health services in the districts where medical college facilities have been started. The survey was based on OPD footfall, IPD admissions, caesarean sections (LSCS) and major surgeries in two phases, in which conditions were assessed before and after the commencement of the medical college. It has also been revealed in the survey report that the load of patients in big private hospitals including KGMU, SGPGI of the capital has reduced after the commencement of these colleges.

Improvement in OPD services resulted in increase in the number of patients

According to the survey conducted regarding OPD services in Bahraich, Deoria and Hardoi, before the commencement of the medical college here, the footfall of patients in OPD used to be 5 lakhs annually. At the same time, the number of patients in the OPD has increased after the commencement of the facility of the medical college here, which shows that the attitude of the local patients to the capital has reduced. According to the survey, in Deoria, where less than five lakh patients used to come to see their OPD annually, more than 5.30 lakh patients have availed the benefit of OPD service here after the commencement of the medical college.

Patients taking advantage of IPD’s services more than before

In Bahraich and Hardoi where 75 thousand patients used to take advantage of IPD (Inter-Patient Department) service before the medical college started. At the same time, after the commencement of the medical college, more than one lakh patients are taking advantage of this facility. In Ghazipur, Shahjahanpur, Ayodhya and Deoria where earlier the number of these patients was less than 50 thousand annually. At the same time, now more than 50 thousand are taking advantage of this service. Along with this, a lot of improvement has also been seen in Basti, Siddharth Nagar, Etawah and Pratapgarh.

Caesarean section facility improved in Hardoi, Jaunpur

In Hardoi, Bahraich and Jaunpur where earlier only about two thousand pregnant women used to take advantage of caesarean section every year. At the same time, now their number has increased a lot. If we talk about Basti, after the hospital here is upgraded to Medical College, every year more than two thousand pregnant women are availing the benefits of caesarean section whereas earlier their number was very less. There has been a lot of improvement in Etawah, Firozabad, Siddharthnagar, Ayodhya, Fatehpur and Ghazipur.

Did not have to move to the capital for major surgery

In Hardoi where earlier every year 5000 patients were subjected to major surgeries. At the same time, major surgeries of more than 5 thousand patients are being done at present. Apart from this, in Deoria and Jaunpur where earlier the figure of major surgery was below 5 thousand annually, at present more than 5 thousand patients are undergoing major surgery. On the other hand, smaller districts like Pratapgarh and Firozabad are performing around 5000 major surgeries every year, which shows the success of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s One District, One Medical College scheme.
