Lucknow: The opposition is losing no chance to corner the current ruling dispensation in the state. A hoarding has come up at the 1090 intersection of the city against the alleged FIR which leveled charges of attack on journalists in Moradabad.
The FIR has reportedly been lodged against Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav in the case of beating of journalists in Moradabad. The hoarding refers to the withdrawal of cases filed on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the cases filed on Akhilesh Yadav. The police administration has removed the disputed hoardings. Police is now searching for the person behind the act.
On one side in the hoarding is the photo of Akhilesh Yadav and next to him is the photo of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The hoarding refers to the cases which have been taken back with regards to Yogi Adityanath and the cases lodged against Akhilesh Yadav. Akhilesh Yadav’s photo mentions sections 147 (rioting), 342 (wrongful restraining), and 323 (injuring) of the IPC. Police suspect that it may have been installed by SP workers.
The former chief minister was giving press talks. After the press conference was over, some journalists in the hotel lobby asked Akhilesh Yadav some personal questions. SP president got angry on this. Akhilesh Yadav allegedly encouraged his security personnel and party workers to attack the journalists. After this, the security personnel and activists of the former Chief Minister cracked down on the media persons.
Many journalists suffered serious injuries in this. Treatment of injured journalists is going on in the hospital.
After the incident, journalists gave an application to Moradabad SSP to register a case against Akhilesh Yadav. In this case, 20 unknown Samajwadi Party activists including Akhilesh have been accused. All have been booked under sections 147 (rioting), 342 (wrongful restraining), and 323 (injuring) of the IPC.
