Hockey Haryana trounces Round Glass Punjab Hockey to win 33rd All India KD Singh ‘Babu’ Memorial U-14 Hockey Tournament

Lucknow: Hockey Haryana trounced Round Glass Punjab Hockey 3-0 in a one-sided match to win the 33rd All India KD Singh ‘Babu’ Memorial U-14 Hockey Tournament at the Padma Shri Mohd Shahid Stadium on Sunday.

For Hockey Haryana, Prince (11th minute), Aryan (48th minute) and captain Ronit (59th minute) scored one goal each. Despite best efforts, Round Glass Punjab could not open their account.

In the match for the third and fourth spots, Flicker Brothers Shahabad defeated Uttar Pradesh Grace 3-0. Captain Jas Kirat was the lone player who struck thrice in the 12th, 42th & 57th minutes.

Sports minister Girish Chandra Yadav, who was the chief guest on the occasion, praised the young players and highlighted the achievements of the government in the field of sports.

Additional chief secretary, sport, Navneet Sehgal, MLC Pawan Singh Chauhan and Javed Siddique (Karam group) were present on the occasion.

The players who were awarded on the occasion were Fardeen Khan of Round Glass (best goalkeeper), Ronit of Haryana Hockey (best defender), Zainul of UP Grace (best half), Jas Kirat of Flicker Brothers (best forward) and Sanjay of Hockey Haryana (Man of the tournament).
