In a first, U.P. team trounces Karnataka in Ranji clash
Bengaluru: The third quarter final match of the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 was played between the hosts Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh in Alur. In this match, Uttar Pradesh team won and entered the semi-finals. With this, the UP team also broke the losing streak against Karnataka. For the first time, the team of Uttar Pradesh defeated the team of Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy match.
In this quarter-final match, Uttar Pradesh team won by 5 wickets, but on the basis of the first innings, it was seen that the team of UP may have to face another defeat, but captain Karan Sharma made such an innings. Played in a manner in which the team of Karnataka got upset. In the first innings of this match, Karnataka’s team scored 253 runs, which included half-centuries from Ravikumar Samarth and Shreyas Gopal.

In this way, Uttar Pradesh got a target of 213 runs to win, which was achieved by the team of UP on the third day of the match on the basis of 93 runs by captain Karan Sharma and 52 runs by Priyam Garg. Uttar Pradesh defeated Karnataka team in first class cricket for the first time.
