Lucknow: Keeping in view the festivals of Navratri and Dussehra and the proposed programs of the United Kisan Morcha, the leave of police officers and personnel in Uttar Pradesh has been canceled till October 18. Meanwhile, if anyone has to take necessary leave, he/she will be allowed leave from the Headquarters due to unavoidable reasons. Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar has issued an order canceling the holiday on Sunday evening.
The matter is that Durga Puja pandals are being set up at different places during Shardiya Navratri, besides Ramlila is also being staged. The festival of Dussehra will be celebrated across the country on 15 October. In view of the festivals, overcrowding is set to increase in temples, Durga Puja pandals, Ramlilas, markets and public places. On the other hand, the United Kisan Morcha has also announced a movement. This has increased the challenge on the law and order front.
In this case, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar asked all Zonal Additional Director General of Police, Commissioner of Police, Regional Inspector General of Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police, District Police In-charge, Superintendent of Police, Railway not to allow leave to police personnel till October 18.
