In Lucknow’s Thakurganj playing with father’s pistol; kid pulls trigger by mistake, dies

Lucknow: Eight-year-old Ali Zaid was shot dead while playing a game in Thakurganj’s Rainagar in the evening. The bullet had gone into his chest. He was declared brought dead at the trauma centre.

A few hours before this incident, Ali Zaid’s father Mohd. Farid got into a fight with the neighbor, he had threatened the neighbor with a gun.

Later kept in the room. On the complaint of the neighbor, the police had taken Farid to the kotwali, during which the children started playing with the gun and the accident happened.

A case of culpable homicide not falling under the category of murder, negligent possession of a firearm has been registered. Police will recommend cancellation of Farid’s license.

Rainagar resident Mohd. Farid Dubagga is an agent in the vegetable market.

According to the police, Farid’s son Ali Zaid was playing in the house at 4.30 pm on Tuesday.

During this he saw his father’s gun. He started playing with his sister. During this suddenly a bullet went out.

Hearing the sound, Asiya’s mother reached the room. Seeing the son covered in blood, she started crying. Daughter Fahiya also started crying.

DCP Somen Verma says that the investigation is on.
