Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given instructions to complete the construction works in a quality and time bound manner. He said that due to timely completion of construction works, the unnecessary expenditure will not increase. He said that the responsibility of the concerned would be fixed if the construction works were not completed on time.
The Chief Minister was reviewing the development works of Gorakhpur division in a meeting held at the Commissioner’s auditorium in Gorakhpur district. He did a district-wise detailed review of the progress of the development programs, law and order and projects worth more than Rs 10 crore of the Board. On this occasion, he provided financial assistance of two lakh rupees each from the Chief Minister’s fund to 02 beneficiaries of Gayatrinagar district Gorakhpur.
The Chief Minister directed that a nodal officer must be nominated for each project. All preparations related to flood control should be completed before time. The repair work of sensitive dams should be done before the rainy season. In order to avoid water logging in the metropolis, cleaning of drains etc. should be done in time and regular monitoring of works should also be done.
The Chief Minister directed the officers to establish better communication with the public representatives. Meetings should be held with them at least once a month. It should be ensured that the phones of public representatives are properly attended and proper response is given. It is the responsibility of all of us to live up to the trust of the people. The officers should be sensitive towards the public and solve their problems. Everyone has the right to get justice. Therefore, the problems of the people should be resolved on the basis of merit. Also get feedback from the applicant through phone regarding the resolution of the problem.
The Chief Minister said that there is great power in inter-departmental coordination. Interdepartmental coordination has a major contribution in controlling the problem of encephalitis. Under the Mission Shakti programme, for the safety, respect and self-reliance of women, an inter-departmental joint team should make a weekly program and solve the problems sensitively by setting up chaupals in the gram panchayats. He said that all the officers should be present in the offices on time and ensure the resolution of public problems. A register of public problems should also be made, in which the status of the problem should be recorded. Officers should take rest of the night at their place of posting.
The Chief Minister said that while creating village-wise awareness about education under ‘School Chalo Abhiyan’, it should be ensured that no child is deprived of education. Every child must go to school, he should be provided with uniform, shoe-stocking etc. He laid special emphasis on the beautification of schools under Operation Kayakalp, so that some innovation could be seen in the schools. He said that cleanliness and pure drinking water have to be adopted to avoid diseases, then only infected diseases can be avoided. The Chief Minister said that 75-75 ponds should be constructed in the Municipal Corporation and Gram Panchayats in the district and these ponds should be named ‘Amrit Sarovar’ under the Amrit Mahotsav.
The Chief Minister directed that a playground and a manure pit for solid waste should be made in each gram panchayat, from which compost would be prepared. Village secretariat should be established in every village and the problems of the villagers should be solved from there. He said that the schemes should be employment-oriented, there should be no complaint of irregularities in any scheme. If any complaint of irregularities is found, then strict action should be ensured against the concerned.
Giving instructions to conduct regular review of communicable disease control and Dastak Abhiyan, the Chief Minister said that for resolving the problems of entrepreneurs and traders, a review meeting at the divisional and district level must be held. He said that to get rid of the problem of traffic jam, it is necessary to follow the traffic rules so that the traffic continues to operate smoothly. He gave instructions to the concerned agencies for speedy completion of the construction works of Gorakhpur-Sonauli road, Naushad-Padleganj, Gorakhpur-Varanasi etc.
While directing the Collectorate and Commissionerate to make integrated offices and promote tourism, the Chief Minister said that there are many possibilities of tourism in Gorakhpur division. He said that work should also be done towards making smart villages like smart cities. Street vendors should be systematically rehabilitated. Along with the widening of roads, drainage and underground cabling should be arranged for drainage. Basic facilities should be developed in Vantangiya village, Musahar Basti.
Reviewing the law and order situation, the Chief Minister said that strict legal action should be taken against the criminals. Arrangements should be made for seating, drinking water etc. for the people coming to the police stations. Grievances should be treated with sensitivity. Unnecessary items lying in police stations should also be disposed of as per rules. Police patrolling should be carried forward systematically. Patriotic tunes should be played by police bands at martyr places/tourist places once a week.
During the meeting, all the district magistrates of the division informed about the progress of the development programs of their respective districts and the police officers about the law and order situation. Public representatives and senior officials of the government and administration were present in the meeting.
