In SGPGI, now nurses will be called Nursing Officers

Lucknow: SGPGI administration has taken a big decision, nurses will now be known as Nursing Officers. Sister Grade-2 has been given the status of Nursing Officer and Sister Grade-1 has been given the status of Senior Nursing Officer. Physiotherapist Grade-I will be called Physiotherapist. The same Pharmacist Grade – 1 has been named Chief Pharmacist. Pharmacist Grade – II has been renamed as Senior Pharmacist and Pharmacist Grade – 3 as Pharmacist Grade – II.

Actually, the designation was changed in AIIMS about 4 years ago. Since then, other health workers including nurses in SGPGI also started raising the demand to change their designation. For this the Nursing Staff Association fought a long battle.

After which now his demand was fulfilled and the designation was changed. With the decision of the PGI administration, the years-old demand of the Nursing Staff Association has been fulfilled. Due to which there is a wave of happiness in the Nursing Officers.

Nursing Staff Association President Seema Shukla, General Secretary Sujan Singh, Vice President Lata Sachan, Treasurer Rajkumar Organization Minister Manoj expressed happiness after meeting SGPGI Director and CMS, Nursing Staff Association President Seema Shukla termed the change of designation as a big victory.
