Lucknow: State’s Higher Education, Science Technology Electronics and Information Technology Minister Yogendra Upadhyay reviewed the works of the Higher Education Department at the Tilak Hall of Naveen Bhawan located at the Secretariat. During the review, he said that it is a matter of pride for India that this time the G-20 conference is being held in India.
For this, on January 21, Run for G-20 races will be organized in Agra, Varanasi, Lucknow and Greater Noida. There will be a large participation of college and university students. For this, the theme should be publicized at the university level with the G-20 logo.
Upadhyay said that youth are the future of the country. The big responsibility of taking the country forward lies on their shoulders. The state government wants to make their best contribution in the building of the country by linking them with various activities through universities, colleges and higher education. During the G-20 event, the state government is trying to present the contribution of youth power and remarkable progress of the state to the world. He also said that Road Safety Month is also being organized this month. Therefore, road safety awareness programs should also be organized in universities.
Upadhyay said that every university should strictly follow the academic calendar as per the intention of the government, as well as proper arrangements should be made for cheating-free examinations. During the examination, effective monitoring of the examination centers should be done through CCTV cameras by setting up a control room at the district or university level. As a pilot project, suspicious centers should also be monitored with drone cameras.
Appropriate action should be taken by fixing the responsibility of the concerned on any irregularity during the examination. All universities and colleges should encourage the use of technology, students should be encouraged to use DigiLocker for the protection of certificates. Necessary steps should be taken for effective implementation of all the points of public interest guarantee.
Upadhyay said that the New Education Policy-2020 is bringing positive changes in education. For its effective implementation, proper compilation of information should be done, Academic Bank of Credit should be arranged and all the universities, taking inspiration from Lucknow University, should try to get good rating in NAAC evaluation.
Upadhyay said that the government is sensitive about the interests of the youth, employees and teachers. Directing the departmental officers, he said that the process of sending requisitions for filling Group-C posts in the department should be done as per the rules and the process of promotion of the employees should be completed soon. All universities should expedite the process of filling vacant academic and non-academic posts in their respective universities as per rules and the process of appointment of candidates selected by the Public Service Commission should also be completed soon.
He said that the works of under-construction colleges should be expedited in the state and effective lobbying should be done for quick disposal of pending cases related to the Higher Education Department in the Hon’ble Court. He said that the Higher Education Department is a public-related department and the intelligentsia works in it. In such a situation, the public expects only good works from the department. That’s why we all should do departmental work with full dedication. He told all the officers present in the meeting that a review meeting will be held soon to evaluate the implementation of the instructions given in today’s meeting.
