Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh’s Minister of State for Transport (Independent Charge) Dayashankar Singh has said that the state government is committed to provide better transport facilities to the people of Uttar Pradesh. He has said that Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation is continuously working in this direction. New technology is being incorporated daily.
In this sequence, for the passengers traveling in the corporation’s buses, the facility is now being made available through UPI by scanning the QR code for payment of ticket price. He said this is being done with with the aim of making this system more effective and attractive, the UP Transport Corporation is going to start an attractive incentive scheme for bus operators in collaboration with Paytm, under which the operators will be given e payment options.
Singh said that with the implementation of this scheme, the operators of the buses of the Transport Corporation will be motivated to use the UPI medium. Along with this, a plan has been made to honor the top-3 operators of each area of the Transport Corporation, who collect fare through UPI, with special prizes. He told that the special incentive scheme will be implemented in corporation buses in the next 15 days, action has been started for its implementation.
Dayashankar Singh said that at present this scheme is being implemented with the aim of removing the hesitation of operators to sell tickets through UPI. This will motivate the operators to provide UPI payment facility to the passengers and this step will be a pioneer step by the Transport Corporation in the direction of digital payment. With the implementation of this scheme, the passengers will also get rid of the problem of retail.
