In U.P. money to be recovered from those found ineligible to get benefits under PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi has said that 21 lakh farmers have been found ineligible to get benefits under PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana.

The money already transferred in their bank accounts is being recovered as per rules. He said, in the ineligible list are those farmers who pay income tax, who do not own any land or both husband and wife are taking benefits.

The minister has also appealed to the farmers to upload all their land documents on the Agriculture Department’s portal by September 9 to be eligible to get the 12th installment under PM-Kisan Nidhi. He said that the Center can release the 12th installment any day, but its benefit will be given only to those farmers who have uploaded their verified land documents on the portal by September 9.

The minister said that the agriculture and revenue departments are working on the verification of documents expeditiously. The data of 1.51 crores of 1.62 farmers has already been updated. The data of remaining (approximately) 11 lakh farmers is being verified. Under the scheme, eligible farmers get financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal installments.
