In UP schools, morning assembly is now Compulsory
Lucknow: All schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh must now have a morning assembly for 15 minutes as per instructions from the secondary education department.
The action was taken a day after Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath requested that principals include morning assembly in the curriculum and arrive 15 minutes before to the commencement of the event.
The directive said that morning assembly should begin at 9.45 a.m. if a school opens at 10 a.m.
“Two senior officers will visit schools during assembly hours as part of ‘naya sawera’ and engage with kids on matters related to life values, discipline, careers, daily routines, and current events. Schools are obliged to invite successful locals and former students.
