Lucknow: Independence Day is being celebrated with pomp today as part of the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. In Lucknow, CM Yogi Adityanath hoisted the national flag in the Vidhan Sabha. Several programs have been organized in the capital on this occasion. Programs like Independence Week and Har Ghar Tricolor have been organized for maximum public participation in this national festival. Everywhere the celebration of independence is being celebrated with full enthusiasm.
City bus travel in Lucknow has been made free on completion of 75 years of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. Divisional Commissioner Dr. Roshan Jacob has directed Lucknow City Transport Services Limited to provide free buses to those participating in the program organized at Lok Bhavan.
Lucknow City Transport started operating 90 electric buses from 4 am on Monday. These buses took people to their destination after the program is over. City Transport MD Pallav Bose said that free buses will be run for Lok Bhavan. Even after the program, Lucknow City Transport Services Limited will provide free travel facility to the passengers.
OPDs of other hospitals including PGI and Balrampur Hospital will remain open on Monday. Patients will be seen here. PGI Director Dr. RK Dhiman said in the order issued on Sunday evening that the institute will run OPD with flag hoisting on Independence Day. However, OPDs in Lohia Institute and KGMU will remain closed.
The accused Sarfaraz, who threatened to blow up Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with a bomb, was arrested by the Cyber Crime Cell team from Rajasthan. Sarfaraz had threatened UP-112 by sending a message on WhatsApp in the name of cousin Shahid. The police have also recovered the mobile.
On the occasion of Independence Day on 15th August, the entire state will be given uninterrupted electricity. UP Power Corporation Chairman M. Devraj has told that an order has been issued to provide 24 hours cut-free electricity. Officers and employees have been directed to ensure this under all circumstances.
