India-Africa relations a wonderful example of cooperative relations: Chief Minister

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath  inaugurated the first edition of UNESCO-India-Africa Hackathon at Gautam Buddha University in Gautam Budh Nagar district. The Chief Minister did the e-launching of the Study in Indian Program exhibition and saw the cultural parade of Indo-African countries.

On this occasion, while addressing the UNESCO-India-Africa Hackathon-2022, the Chief Minister said that India-Africa relations are a wonderful example of cooperative relations. Solidarity against colonialism, a true spirit of cooperation among developing countries has been the cornerstone of strong India-Africa relations.

The feelings of world welfare that have always been expressed in the Indian mind can become the medium of world welfare even today. The expression of Indian Manisha- Ayaam Nijah Paroveti Ganana represents the expressions of Laghuchetsam, Udarcharitanan tu Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. India has always been following this and strengthening the spirit of world brotherhood. This hackathon is also a symbol of this public welfare policy of ours.

The Chief Minister said that the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi started his non-violent movement against the British Empire from South Africa. The former President of South Africa,  Nelson Mandela, started a campaign against apartheid by considering Mahatma Gandhi as his ideal and based on non-violence and ended the discriminatory system. In India his name is taken with utmost respect. At present, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the relations between India and the continent of Africa are achieving new heights. Cheetahs, recently extinct from India, were released in Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh in September 2022. These cheetahs were brought to India from the African country of Namibia.

The Chief Minister said that India is establishing new dimensions of cooperation and partnership with Africa. In this episode, the first edition of UNESCO-India-Africa Hackathon is being organized. This 36-hour hackathon is being organized till 25 November. More than 400 students and delegates from 22 countries have come to participate in this hackathon. All the students together with the students of India will try to make solutions on different problem statements through different teams. This event will provide an opportunity to students from Africa to take advantage of new opportunities of innovation in various fields of education and life in India. During the hackathon all the participating students will also conceptualize and design innovative technology based solutions. This event is in accordance with the intention of the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister believes that there should be participation of the youth in the overall solution of the widespread problems of the mainstream.

The Chief Minister said that at present Uttar Pradesh is included in the leading states of the country. Big entrepreneurs and international companies from India and abroad are investing a large amount in the state. The state government has fixed several focus sectors. Startups, IT, electronics, agro food processing, dairy, textile, renewable energy etc. are majorly included in this. Uttar Pradesh’s ‘One District One Product’ scheme is currently working to emerge like a startup and take special and famous products to the public. This scheme is not only giving a new identity to the districts of the state, but is also providing employment opportunities to lakhs of youth. The state government is determined to promote innovation and startups. The policy of the state government is also clear in this regard.

The Chief Minister said that through initiatives like Startup, Incubator, Mentorship, Center of Entrepreneurship, Innovation Hub, Uttar Pradesh is committed to establish a capable, advanced and innovative startup ecosystem. Similarly, hackathons not only provide a strong foundation to the startup culture, but also make a positive impact on the lives of the students. Through Hackathon, children make new innovations using technology, which can provide a new direction to the country by becoming start-ups in the future.
