India to produce 300 million doses of Russian vaccine Sputnik V in 2021

Moscow: As India gears up like other parts of the world for vaccination against COVID – 19, Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) Chairman, Kirill Dmitriev has stated that Russia’s Corona Vaccine Sputnik V will have 300 million doses developed in India in 2021.

He was speaking in an interview given to a news channel where he said that agreements have been signed with four major producers in India and India will develop 300 million or more doses of vaccine for us next year.

Kirill Dmitriev  has in most clear cut terms said that 10 out of the list of 110 production sites to develop the vaccine matched with RDIF requirements. He said that Sputnik V vaccine will be developed worldwide but he will ensure that it is developed on safe forums.

In a  recent tweet by the Indian Embassy in Russia, citing RDIF CEO it was said that Russia is testing the first samples of Sputnik V vaccine developed in India.

Earlier this week Russian President Vladimir Putin had said that Russia’s Corona vaccine is the world’s first corona vaccine and the vaccine is more than 95 percent effective in fighting the virus.
