Indira bridge repair work picks pace
Lucknow: The repair of Indira bridge connecting IT to Nishatganj will last for 18 days. Vehicular traffic is closed on Indira Bridge from 26 February. In such a situation, the Railways is talking about completing its part of the work by 25 March.
At the same time, PWD has claimed to complete its part of the work in three days. In such a situation, people passing through Indira Bridge will have to wait till March for the repair of the bridge to be completed. Till then one and a half to two km extra round will have to be taken by the commuters.
It has been more than 15 days since the bridge was closed. Now it will remain closed for 20 more days. When the movement of light and heavy vehicles will start from the bridge, doubt remains. PWD’s executive engineer Manish Verma has told the media that the railway work has started.
PWD will also start soon. There is no work for more than three days. DRM Aditya Kumar of Northeast Railway told reporters that the work has started. It will take minimum 15 days.
