Lucknow: Keeping in mind the basic mantra of equality of opportunity of Baba Saheb, the state government is continuously working to provide better modern education to the children of weaker sections. This year’s Teacher’s Day was something special for the teachers and children of Ashram Training School (ATS), run by the Social Welfare Department.
For the first time, 35 teachers of ATS, who gave good results in class 10th and 12th at Chhatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj Shodh Sansthan, Partnership Bhawan, were honored for the first time by the Minister of Social Welfare Department, Asim Arun. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) signed a three-year contract with the Social Welfare Department for how to provide technical and job-oriented education to the children of ATS. At present, 30 teachers of 10 ATS have been trained by TCS as Master Trainer by providing training in Computational Thinking (Solving complex problems in simple form). Minister of State for Social Welfare Sanjeev Gond was also present on this occasion.
Talent will shine through technical and employable education
Through Computational Thinking, ATS children will be taught how to solve complex questions easily. TCS has also made a three-year contract proposal with the Social Welfare Department for conducting programs like lignite My Future and goIT etc. for educational upgradation and skill development of students and teachers of Ashram school schools. In collaboration with TCS, children will be provided employment based education based on their interest.
Web site and help line inaugurated
In the program, the web site www.ats.upsdc.gov.in and help line number 9621650062 for Rajkiya Ashram system schools was inaugurated by Asim Arun, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Social Welfare. Complete information related to all 94 schools will be available on the web site. On this there will be complete information related to admission along with information about all residential and educational facilities. Information about the contact numbers and mess etc. of all the schools in-charge/principal will also be available on the web site. Parents, students and teachers can get their problems resolved by telling their problems on the helpline number started at Directorate level. Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Mr. Sameer Verma, TCS representative, Mr. Ravi Kohli and several officers of the department were present in the program.
Asim Arun, Minister of Social Welfare said – work has started on how to further improve the infrastructure of ATS like building, smart class, accommodation, hostel etc. Special attention is also being paid to quality control of schools. We have to act as a group that develops innovation by going beyond the rules.
