International Day of Light celebrated by Lucknow University’s Department of Physics

Lucknow: Under the  patronage of LU VC Prof Alok Kumar Rai the department of physics University of Lucknow celebrated the international day of light May 16 with great enthusiasm.

Since the declaration of IDL by UNESCO in 2017, the department of physics has been celebrating it every year with huge participation of students,at times from all over Lucknow and the country.

The resource person Dr Rathendra Krishna Mitra, receipent of several national and international awards, HoD physics Montfort college Lucknow illustrated many concepts of physics through his innovatively designed experiments.

He demonstrated various applications of lasers and the generation of high voltage due to plasma which he used to light up a CFL without physical connection.

Students of BSc and MSc gave microlecture s on various interesting topics as well as hard core topics like Li Fi, holography and adaptive optics .

The chief guest Prof Vivek sahai motivated the students by his enamouring speech.

Prof NK Pandey HoD physics presided the celebration convened by Prof RK Shukla and organised by Dr Navina Wadhwani.
