International markets being opened to U.P. produce – Dinesh Pratap Singh
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government is determined to ensure that the farmers of Uttar Pradesh get good prices for their crops. To increase the income of farmers, crops are being exported to the country and abroad. Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Agricultural Export, Dinesh Pratap Singh said these things in a program organized at Lulu Mall, Lucknow.
The Horticulture Minister recently flagged off potato containers from Lulu Mall Lucknow to the country of Oman. The potatoes produced by the farmers are being sent abroad in these potato containers.
He said that international market is being made available to the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. The state government is constantly making efforts for the interests of the farmers. He said that apart from potato, work will be done to take other producers to the foreign market.
He thanked the officials of Lulu Mall Group for sending the consignment of potatoes to the Middle East country Oman in the first phase.
Agriculture Production Commissioner Manoj Singh said that potatoes produced in UP are being sent to foreign countries. UP’s crops will be sent to Lulu Group’s malls established in different countries.
Fair & Export, a company of Lulu Group, has started exporting potatoes from farmers and mandis to Oman and other countries, as a result of which Lulu Mall and Fair & Export dispatched 02 containers of 20 MT each to Oman.
On this occasion, Special Secretary Horticulture Yogesh Kumar, Director Horticulture Dr. R.K. Tomar as well as Biju Sugathan, Lijo Jose and Sibtain Hussain from Lulu Mall were present.
