IPS Amitabh Thakur declares he will contest for Lok Sabha from Ballia
Lucknow: Former IPS Amitabh Thakur has announced to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Ballia. He said that he would contest the elections on behalf of the newly formed political party ‘Adhikar Sena’.
Amitabh had announced the formation of the Adhikar Sena saying that the Adhikar Sena believes in the feeling of vesting of all rights in the common citizen and its effort is to bring the powers given by the Constitution to the reach of every citizen.
Amitabh said that he chose Ballia because of its cultural and historical background. He said that Ballia is known as rebel Ballia because of its unique role in the freedom struggle and especially in the Quit India Movement of 1942 under Chittu Pandey, declaring it independent from the British.
He said that he wants to serve the earth of Jai Prakash Narayan and Chandrashekhar, who are constantly determined to establish a better society, with full sincerity and devotion.
