Bareilly: Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar is going to organise its 10th Convocation on 23rd August 2022,informed Dr Triveni Dutt, Director ,IVRI.
Speaking exclusively to The Lucknow Tribune, he said that Indian Veterinary Research Institute is a premier research organisation in the field of Veterinary and animal sciences, which came into existence in the year 1889.
In it’s more than 133 years of eventful journey, the institute has been a torchbearer for scientific development in the area of Veterinary and animal sciences. The institute has played a pivotal role in eradication of important livestock diseases (Rinderpest,CBPP Dourine,African Horse Sickness)from the Country and continues to be on the forefront in animal health management.
Due to continuous research efforts focused on solving the problems of farmers and livestock owners ,the institute has a rich IPR portfolio which includes 29 patents,18 designs,41 copyrights and has commercialized 38 technologie to more than 141 commercial houses. he said. The institute started imparting quality education and training to the veterinarians, civil and military personnel since 1990.
The postgraduate degree programmes were initiated in the year 1958 under the aegis of Agra and Rohilkhand universities. Thereafter, the Deemed university status was granted by the UGC on 16th November 1983 to the institute. Presently, the institute offers MVSc in 19 and PhD in 17 disciplines of Veterinary sciences besides under graduation in Veterinary Science(BVSc$AH)and National Diploma in 10 subjects, he added.
Director, IVRI further informed that the IVRI Deemed University has awarded 3627 degrees (MSc-105,MVSc-2313,PhD- 1209) and 2368 National Diplomas till date. In the 10th Convocation scheduled on 23rd August 2022 a total of 941degrees(BVSc$AH-30,MVSc-501,PhD-410)and 86 awards are to be conferred to the students and faculty ,he added.
