JioFiber cements its place as the country’s largest broadband service

Mumbai: There was a huge increase in data consumption on Reliance Jio’s network. According to company results, customers used 91.4 billion GB of data on the company’s network in the financial year 2021-22. This reached a record level of 24.6 billion GB in the first three months of 2022.

Which was up 47.5% from the previous quarter. On an average, a customer used 19.7 GB of data per month to spend this huge data.

In the fourth quarter, customers set a new record for talking on Jio network. Each subscriber spoke on an average of 968 minutes per month on the Jio network i.e. about 32 minutes per day. Jio network voice traffic grew by 17.9% to 451,000 crore minutes as compared to last year.

On the other hand, within two years of its launch, JioFiber has become the country’s largest broadband service provider. JioFiber has connected more than 6 million premises to its network including around 5 million households. Two-thirds of the broadband connections installed in households in the last financial year were from JioFiber.

According to the company, Jio has completed the preparations for the 5G launch. For this, Jio has conducted extensive field trials in many cities of 8 states. Peak user throughput exceeded 1.5Gbps in these tests. Work is also being done on multi-vendor interoperability and interworking.

The company has also done well in terms of Average Revenue Per User (ARPU). The company’s ARPu stood at Rs 167.6 in the fourth quarter of January to March 2022. Reliance Jio’s standalone profit jumped 24 per cent to Rs 4,173 crore in the fourth quarter. The company had reported profit after tax of Rs 3,360 crore in the same period a year ago.

Reliance Jio’s Consolidated Profit After Tax for the financial year ended March 31, 2022 grew by nearly 23 per cent to Rs 14,854 crore as compared to Rs 12,071 crore in FY21. The company has also made a record in standalone revenue. The company’s standalone revenue grew 20 per cent to Rs 20,901 crore in March 2022 from Rs 17,358 crore in March 2021.
