Mumbai: In the 15th season of the Indian Premier League, the teams of Rajasthan and Gujarat came out in the final to win the trophy. Royals opener Jos Buttler, who was in scintillating form, made a record that no batsman had made before. In the playoffs, this batsman left everyone behind by completing a double century. The final of IPL 2022 was played on Sunday 29 May at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Here Sanju Samson won the toss and called the Gujarat team to bowl first. Rajasthan’s Butler completed a double century during this match in the IPL playoffs. He thus holds the distinction of becoming the first batsman to do so in any single season’s playoffs. Earlier, David Warner had scored 190 runs in 2016 while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Rajat Patidar scored 170 runs in the same season playing for RCB and is at number three. Murali Vijay scored 156 runs in 2012.
