Just scoring 50- to 60 runs will not fetch a player a berth in the Indian cricket team in the coming times – Md Azharuddin

New Delhi: There are many such players in the Indian cricket team at this time who are trying to make their place in the team. In such a situation, the players who are in the team are under pressure to do well continuously. Hanuma Vihari, who has been a part of the Test team for a long time, is failing to make big scores. Former captain Mohammad Azharuddin has clearly said that if he keeps scoring 50 or 60 runs, then he will not be able to save his place.

With the return of Pujara, it is clear that his place will definitely be sealed in the playing XI. Now this means that the batsman who replaced him in the Sri Lanka series, Hanuma Vihari, will have to wait for the rest of him to come again. He was one of the star players of India’s Test series win against Australia in 2021. After this he got a chance in the Test series against Sri Lanka but he could not do much.

Azhar said, it is very important for him to score big scores. It is necessary to score a century to cement your place. If you only reach the score of 50 or 60 runs, then it is not going to help you. He is a very amazing player but you will be able to play for the Indian team for a long time only if you keep scoring big scores continuously.

After playing 15 Test matches, Hanuma has so far scored only one century. Looking at his last 10 innings, he has managed to score fifty runs only once. He scored a half-century in the Mohali Test against Sri Lanka, followed by knocks of 31 and 35. Azhar says it is important to score big to stay in the team.
