Kabir Festival started with Kabiri singing, Kathak, sparkling lamps and powerful acting of Mita Vashishtha

Lucknow: Celebrating Shaamein malang si, the inauguration ceremony began with the lighting of lamps by Additional Chief Secretary Anil Kumar, Director Nahar ji of Sangeet Natak Akademi and Ashutosh Kumar of Kabir Akademi.
Singer Mahinderpal sang songs like Kabir’s Ult Bansi and Sadho Jag Baurana, singer Kamala Kant  echoed the tunes of Chhaap Tilak Sab Chheeni accompanied by Shobhit Mishra. A Kathak dance by Preeti Tiwari on Sufiana Kalam mesmerized the crowd.
After this,  main attraction in Gadge Auditorium was the play “Lal Ded” by famous actress Mita Vashishtha, which was based of the mysticism of Kashmiri poet Lalleshwari.
Before the play, the drama function was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Additional Chief Secretary Anil Kumar, film maker Naeem Siddiqui, famous entrepreneur  Mukesh Bahadur Singh and social worker  Shyam.
Festival Organizer Sangita Jaiswal said that this is the fifth season of Kabir Festival and it will conclude on November 21 with film screening and tomorrow Rasika Agashe’s very famous satirical play “Stand Up with D Girls” will be staged.
Before that, music and open mic will be organised.
Hundreds of elite citizens of the city were present in the program which included senior lawyers IB Singh, Preeti Sharma, Sabiha Ahmed, Meraj, Ashutosh Devedi, scientists Amit Mishra, Saman Habib, Veena Rana, senior actors Anil Rastogi, Sangita Jaiswal, director Purva Naresh etc.
