Karnataka government representatives understood the working of social welfare department
Lucknow: Officials of the Government of Karnataka obtained detailed information about the implementation of the schemes of the Social Welfare Department in Lucknow. Seven officers from three departments under the leadership of Arun Chakraborty, Director of Civil Rights Enforcement (Additional Director General of Police) from Karnataka presented their state’s plans and information in a meeting chaired by Social Welfare Minister Asim Arun. Social Welfare Department, U.P. Information was shared about departmental schemes.
Both the states will take inspiration from good works
Karnataka officials said that the children belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, who are taking education in reputed institutions abroad, are provided scholarships by the state government. The Social Welfare Department of U.P. will also consider such a scheme. The state government will increase the number of hostels for children belonging to scheduled castes and tribes and the arrangements for libraries, labs etc. will be further improved for them.
Abhyudaya scheme for Karnataka team
The officials of Karnataka were greatly impressed by the Mukhyamantri Abhyudaya Yojana launched by the U.P. government to prepare for competitive exams. Apart from this, the team expressed satisfaction after seeing the disposal of cases and the percentage of punishments under the Scheduled Castes, Tribes Act. Before the meeting, the team also met DG Prosecution Shri Ashutosh Pandey and DG Special Investigation Shri Chandra Prakash ji. Principal Secretary Social Welfare Dr. Hariom, Director Rakesh Kumar were present in the meeting.
Such educational tours and exchange of information are very important. State officials will also continue to go to other states for such studies said Minister of State, Social Welfare ( Independent Charge ), Asim Arun.
