Karpoori Thakur recalled fondly by JD(U) in city

Lucknow: Freedom Fighter, Educationist, Politician and Former Chief Minister of Bihar State Jannayak Karpoori Thakur’s Birth Anniversary Celebrated at the State Office of Janata Dal United Uttar Pradesh (38D, Major Wanks Road, Opposite Vidhansabha Gate No-6, Lucknow).

First of all, an emotional tribute was paid to Jannayak Karpuri Thakur  by garlanding his portrait, after which his personality and works were elaborately highlighted through a seminar. Senior leader of the party Dr Jitendra Singh presided over the seminar. While addressing the seminar, the speakers said that Karpoori Thakur was so popular among the public that he was called Jannayak.

Remained relevant in politics. He remained the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly for decades apart from being the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar state once and Chief Minister twice. He never lost an election in his life.

He was easy and simple-hearted and believed in simple living and high thinking. He kept on fighting for the upliftment of the poor and backward till his life. The speakers said that by following the path shown by Jananayak Karpoori Thakur, the most recognized leader of our party and the popular Chief Minister of Bihar state, Nitish Kumar is taking the state of Bihar on the path of progress. Prominent among those who addressed the seminar were the party’s state general secretary organization Bhaiya Harishankar  Patel, general secretaries Shailendra Verma, Ram Kishore Verma, state spokesperson Subhash Pathak, Kunwar Ajay Singh, state treasurer Amar Singh Katiyar, office in-charge Om Prakash Verma, media in-charge.

Hundreds of workers including Manish Nandan, State President of Business Cell Pawan Gupta, Sanjay Gupta, Vishal Anand, HN Singh, Ravindra Shukla, Indra Lal Patel, Amit Kumar Kushwaha, Ravi Kumar were present.
