KGMU PICKED AS CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR TB
Lucknow: The role of U.P. will also be important in the eradication of TB from the country. Under the campaign to make the country TB free by the year 2025, it has been decided by the Central Government to set up Centers of Excellence at various places. In this sequence, King George’s Medical University has also been selected for the Center of Excellence. Dr. P. Ashok Babu, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has sent a letter in this regard to Dr. Parthasarathy Sen Sharma, Principal Secretary, Medical and Health Department. The National Strategic Plan (2017 to 2025) was prepared to make the country TB free.
These Centers of Excellence are being created under this program to eradicate TB. Drug resistant TB will be prevented with the help of these centers. Actually that form of TB is considered very fatal, in which no medicine has any effect.
