KGMU research student Anuj Kumar Pandey’s poem on “Environment and Tobacco” was selected for the National Summit.

Lucknow: In the national level competition held in the Second National Summit on World No Tobacco Day-2022 (WNTD-2022), the poem written by Anuj Kumar Pandey, a PhD student in the Department of Respiratory Medicine, KGMU, has been selected. The event was organised by E-Research Center for Tobacco Control, Department of Community Medicine and School of Public Health, PGIMER Chandigarh, and supported by the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (The UNION), South East Asia Office, New Delhi. At this summit, a poetry, slogan, an essay competition, etc. were organised on the theme of World No Tobacco Day “Tobacco: A threat to the environment.” In which Anuj Kumar Pandey’s poem “Environment and Tobacco” was selected.

Dr. Surya Kant, Head of the Department of Respiratory Medicine, KGMU, said that the slogan written by Anuj Kumar Pandey on Tuberculosis won the second prize in the National Conference, earlier. Anuj Kumar Pandey is doing his research work under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Kumar Verma, Additional Professor of Respiratory Medicine. The Head of the Department, Dr. Surya Kant, and all the doctors and junior doctors congratulated Anuj and wished him a bright future.
