Lucknow: King George’s Medical University Administration of Lucknow is going to start a new initiative. Under which poor students studying in KGMU will get part time job opportunities. KGMU Administration is going to give chance to MBBS and BDS students for the first time. Under this, medical students will play the role of volunteers in seminars, CMEs and other functions to be held in the university campus. In lieu of which stipend will be paid to the students. But they will be able to do this part time job in KGMU campus only. Soon Dean Students Welfare will seek applications from these students.
KGMU’s Dean Student Welfare Dr. RN Srivastava says that KGMU has planned to take this step in the interest of poor and middle class students. So that financial assistance can be provided to the students of low income group. They will be given part time job opportunity in KGMU campus. So that it can raise some money for its own needs. However, the amount of payment has not been decided yet.
Conferences, seminars and CMEs are organized in various departments of KGMU. Volunteer duty is imposed in these by paying money from outside. However, this time KGMU has planned to give a chance to the students studying here. Instead, there is talk of giving stipend to these students. For this needy students will have to apply to Dean Students Welfare. It will be a condition that students will be able to work in KGMU campus. So that no one’s studies are affected.
