Khelo India University Games to play key role in pushing Religious Tourism further
Lucknow: The Khelo India University Games, which are going to be hosted by U.P., will not only create a new atmosphere regarding sports in the state, branding of the state’s tourist places will also take place. The participants will also be taken on a sightseeing tour of major tourist places in all the host cities. Gorakhpur has got the hosting of the rowing competition of Khelo India.
Young sportspersons from all over the country coming to Gorakhpur to participate in this will also visit the world famous Gorakhnath temple of Nathpanth and Mahaparinirvana place of Tathagat Lord Buddha in Kushinagar.
According to the intention of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Khelo India University Games are being organized with a multidimensional approach.
Players from universities across the country will come to UP in this competition. In such a situation, there will also be an opportunity for them to know about the changing picture of Uttar Pradesh, its heritage, art-culture and major tourist places.
To make the competition memorable for them and they return to their provinces with UP in their heart, Khelo India University Games is not limited to just a talent show platform. According to the comprehensive action plan prepared in this regard, the officials of the host districts are working in a coordinated manner.
Along with reviewing the preparations, Additional Chief Secretary Sports Navneet Sehgal is in touch with the officials of the administration and sports department in the districts. Along with providing all the best facilities to the sportspersons on his guidance, arrangements are also being made for their tourism, observation of art-culture so that they can know the specialty of UP.
Gorakhpur is also one of the host cities of Khelo India University Games. Rowing competition will be organized from May 27 to 31 in Ramgarhtal here. In total 30 events of rowing competition, 471 male and female players from 24 universities across the country have been registered.
These players, coaches and supporting staff coming to Gorakhpur will be taken on a tour of Gorakhnath Temple and Kushinagar. Kushinagar is the Mahaparinirvana place of Lord Buddha and tourists from all over the country and the world come here in large numbers.
Regional Tourism Officer Ravindra Mishra has been entrusted with the responsibility of making arrangements for convenient transportation and lunch for the players during their visit to Gorakhnath Temple and Kushinagar.
