Krishna Janmashtami celebrated with much pomp and show in Kashi
Varanasi: On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, there is a view like Mathura Vrindavan in the city of Kashipuradhipati Baba Vishwanath. Tableau of Laddoo Gopal has been decorated in villages, hamlets, urban localities, police stations, prisons, monasteries and homes. At many places, the tableau of Laddu Gopal with Chandrayaan-3 is attracting people.
On Janmashtami, amid the echoes of bhajan-kirtan, raslila and bhajans, somewhere Nand village was decorated and at some places attractive decorations were made with cranberries, Ashoka branches and leaves.
On the first day of the two-day Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the householders are celebrating the birth anniversary of Kanha. Most of the people have also observed fast. Preparations are on to celebrate Kanha’s birth anniversary at midnight. Women will also sing Sohar along with the slogan ‘Nand Ghar Anand Bhayo Jai Kanhaiya Lal Ki’ in homes.
A three-day festival has been organized at the ISKCON temple located in Durgakund. There are complete preparations to celebrate the birth anniversary of Kanha at Dwarkadhish Temple located on the banks of Khojawan Shankuldhara Pokhara and Dharmasangh Education Board located in Durgakund. The tableau of Thakur ji’s birth anniversary will be decorated in the Gopal temple located in Chaukhambha at night.

On Wednesday, the first day of Janmashtami Maha Mahotsav, a procession was taken out in the morning by Hare Krishna Hare Ram Sankirtan Society from Annapurna Nagar Colony, Kashi Vidyapeeth.
Devotees and school children participating in the procession were walking with musical instruments singing Hare Rama Hare Krishna. The deity was installed in Maheshwari Bhawan located in Mahmoorganj. The chanting went on for an hour. In the evening, 11 mothers performed Tulsi Aarti. After this there will be Gaur and Narasimha Aarti.
