Legal Aid Centre established in Lucknow University Campus

Lucknow: Legal Aid Centre established under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority at the University of Lucknow, Lucknow conducted a Lok Adalat visit on 9th September, 2023 under the guidance of Head and Dean, Faculty of Law, Prof.(Dr.) B.D.Singh, and Chairman of Legal Aid Centre, Dr. Alok Kumar Yadav, at the District Court, Lucknow. National Lok Adalat was organised at the District Court, Lucknow on 9th September, 2023 in which disputes were settled out of court for their speedy disposal.

Legal Aid Centre visited the District Court to observe the National Lok Adalat which was set up for the settlement of disputes related to loans, family matters, motor accidents, etc. The members visited various court rooms in which cases were being addressed.

The members enquired about the types of cases heard, the duration of the cases, the relief provided to the parties and other information in order to make use of this opportunity to its fullest. The Secretary of District Legal Services Authority, Mr. Satyendra Singh inspected each court room to make sure that the purpose of the Nation Lok Adalat was served and the people were benefited.

The members interacted with the legal officers of the bank regarding the details of the disputes concerning loans. The members also interacted with the parties of disputes to know about their grievances and their view regarding the settlement. It was a fruitful visit for the members as they got practical experience of court and grievance redressal.
