There was a problem of stuttering in childhood,  but he overcame all the difficulties and established himself on the pinnacle of success.

Had no friends in school because of stuttering

Hrithik stammered in his childhood. Because of this, the rest of the children in the school used to tease and harass him. Hrithik had recently disclosed this in an interview that he didn’t even have a girlfriend, let alone a friend because of stammering.

According to him, those times were very bad for him and he used to sit alone and cry for hours. Because of this, he did not want to appear in the oral examinations. Sometimes he used to make an excuse of injury and sometimes of some disease. The family members resorted to speech therapy, which helped him a lot.

Saw financial crisis in childhood, stayed at grandmother’s house for 6 months

Hrithik’s childhood was not good in many ways. When he was born, his father Rakesh Roshan was a struggling director and also a hero. Rakesh Roshan himself used to get the role of supporting actor in most of the films. In 1980, as a director, he made the film Aapke Deewane, which flopped at the box office. There was a lot of struggle between 1980 and 86, during this Rakesh Roshan’s acting career was also not going well. Due to this the economic condition was also very bad.

It is about 1982-83, when Hrithik was 8-9 years old. Due to non-payment of rent, the landlord asked his father Rakesh to vacate the house. Then he stayed in his grandmother’s house for 6 months. Later, when he got profit from a film, he bought a house, but that house had nothing but four walls. The whole family used to sleep on the ground by spreading mats and mattresses. Rakesh Roshan’s career started again in 1987 with Khudgarj. This film was the first superhit film made under his direction. After this Rakesh made many hit films including King Uncle, Karan-Arjun.

Hrithik Roshan was born with two thumbs, due to which he had problems in his childhood. When he was in school, because of the two thumbs, the rest of the children considered him different, so no child used to talk to him.

When the doctor said that he would not be able to dance

At the age of 20, Hrithik had a disease called scoliosis. Because of this the doctor had told him that he would not be able to dance further. This disease was related to the spinal cord, in which the bone bends to one side instead of being straight.

A year after being diagnosed with the disease, Hrithik worked on himself with the help of jogging and recovered.

He started his career as an assistant director, used to serve tea to the people present on the set. After graduation, Hrithik started his career as an assistant director. He assisted his father in films such as Khudgarj (1987), King Uncle (1993), Karan Arjun (1995) and Koyla (1997). During the shooting, Hrithik used to sweep the floor and also serve tea to the people present on the set.

When the scenes of the actors were shot during the shooting, Hrithik used to stop the camera man and tell him that he would now give some shots which he should record. Later, when the film was edited, he used to make a separate reel of his scenes. Later, we used to watch the same reel and think what could have been better.

When father beat me in front of friends

Hrithik was once having a party at home with his friends. Meanwhile, he and his friends started throwing empty glass bottles from the roof of the house in a playful way. When Rakesh Roshan saw his act, he got very angry, after which he beat Hrithik a lot in front of his friends.

This was the first and last time when he thrashed Hrithik. This was revealed by Hrithik himself in an interview. Shahrukh Khan was father Rakesh Roshan’s first choice for Kaho Naa Pyaar. Hrithik was about to start his acting career with Shekhar Kapur’s film Tara Rum Pum Pum, but that film could not be made. After this, he made his debut in the film Kaho Naa Pyar Se, in which his opposite Ameesha Patel was seen.

It is worth noting that Rakesh Roshan wanted to cast Shah Rukh Khan in this film, but he did not like the script of the film. After which he did not approach any other actor and cast son Hrithik for the lead role of the film.
