Little green efforts like these in Lucknow’s Ashiana make life worth living

Lucknow: If Captain Planet was closeby, he would have surely jumped with joy by the very sight of what is going on in the city of Nawabs.  In the state capital’s Ashiana area, the LDA colony used to witness dumping of public garbage in a part of the green belt near Shiv Ashram. Some of the visitors used to relieve themselves in the open. Due to which the people living in front had to face all kinds of problems.

Kamaljeet Kaur, a resident of the area, contacted Asha Welfare Foundation. On Monday, Asha Welfare Foundation planted saplings at that place. Plants like Champa, Jasmine, Ashok, Gulmohar, Kaner, Chhoti Chandni, Marigold, Gudhal etc. were planted.

Visitors have appreciated this effort. Asha Welfare Foundation has started a tree plantation campaign. Apart from Kamaljit Kaur, President of the organization Soni Verma, Vice President Brijendra Bahadur, Secretary Jyoti Mehrotra and member Sheeba Khan were present in the plantation campaign upping the ante against  dirt on Monday.
