Look before you Spit
Lucknow: On the one hand, the Municipal Corporation is keeping the roads and dividers of the city neat and clean. On the other hand, people are polluting the city with the consumption of paan and gutkha. Someone is relieving themselves on the roadside.
In such a situation, the Municipal Corporation is imposing fine by challan to teach a lesson. A fine of over Rs.3900 was collected in a short span. City Commissioner Inderjit Singh told that the city was beautified under G-20. To ensure that this beauty continues in the future, a campaign ‘Spitting is prohibited’ is being run.
In Zone 1, eight people were challaned and a fine of Rs 900 was collected. 850 fine has been collected from six people in zone five, 250 from one person in zone six, 1750 from five people in zone eight.
The Municipal Corporation also launched a campaign against the house tax defaulters. Under the leadership of Zonal Officer Manoj Yadav, campaign was conducted in Aishbagh, Rajabazar, Yahiyaganj wards. During this, a total fine of Rs 4 lakh 20 thousand was collected.
