LPG now easily available to those who need it

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath (CM Yogi) launched two free LP cylinder refill distribution programs to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana in Lucknow, which was also telecasted in the community hall of the Municipal Council of Mau district. On this occasion, the district program was inaugurated by Urban Development and Energy Minister  AK Sharma. Apart from this, the Urban Development Minister also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development works worth Rs 27 crore in the district. On this occasion, the Chief Minister and Urban Development Minister (AK Sharma) heartily congratulated the 1.75 crore beneficiary families of the state and wished the people of the state a happy Dhanteras, Diwali and Chhath festival. The implementation of this scheme by the state government will entail an expenditure of Rs 2312 crore.

Urban Development Minister (AK Sharma) said in his address that the Prime Minister had launched the ‘Pradhanmantri Ujjwala Yojana’ from Ballia to ensure the availability of LPG for the poor and deprived people and to be concerned about the health of half the population. The implementation of this scheme has helped women in protecting themselves from serious diseases. He said that fulfilling its promise, the state government has started the work of giving one free gas cylinder each on Diwali and Holi, which has been inaugurated today. About 50 crore people across the country will benefit from this scheme. He said that due to the Ujjwala scheme brought by the Prime Minister, now cylinders are easily available to the people and the subsidy is transferred directly to the beneficiary’s account. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is a gift to keep the lungs and eyes of women working in kitchens healthy.

He (AK Sharma) said that out of 1.75 crore beneficiaries linked to the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, so far 54 lakh people have linked their Aadhaar numbers to their accounts at the state level, which has been verified. The Chief Minister said that it is necessary to link and verify the Aadhaar numbers of all the beneficiaries with the bank accounts, so that all the beneficiaries can get the benefits of this scheme as soon as possible. During the inauguration of this program in the district, the Minister said that earlier cooking with wood and straw had a very bad effect on the health of women. Taking this into consideration, the Prime Minister started the Ujjwala scheme, due to which gas cylinders have now reached every household.

In his address, he said that the Central and State Governments are dedicated to the poor and the deprived and under the leadership of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, development works are being carried out at a rapid pace in the country and the state. On this occasion, he also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated schemes worth Rs 27 crore for development works in the Nagar Panchayats and Municipalities of the district. He gave detailed information about the works being done municipality and nagar panchayat wise. Apart from this, he also informed the people present about the one-time settlement scheme run by the Electricity Department from 08 November.

A.K. Sharma (AK Sharma) said that the Central and State governments are working for the welfare of the poor and have implemented schemes to raise their forest level. The poor are getting the benefits of this. In this, toilet, electricity and roof were provided to the poor in every house. A scheme for waiving surcharge in electricity is underway. Relief has also been given to farmers and people trapped in electricity theft. Two gas cylinders are being given for free. The poor are getting medical facility worth Rs 5 lakh under Ayushman Yojana to protect them from diseases.

During this, District Magistrate Arun Kumar, Superintendent of Police Avinash Pandey, District Supply Officer Vikas Gautam, other concerned officers and beneficiaries were present.
