LU now home to a dedicated Gaurav Sthal for the Prime Minister of India

Lucknow: State Governor  Anandiben Patel  inaugurated a Gaurav Sthal dedicated to the  Prime Minister at Lucknow University, Lucknow, on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti and the birthday of  Prime Minister  Narendra Modi. The Governor encouraged the destitute children and patrons by giving them gifts in the renovated AP Sen Auditorium of Lucknow University, watched various cultural programs presented by the children of Umeed Sanstha and the students of the University, and distributed tablets and mobile phones to 10 students of the University. The skilled personnel of the distribution and university were honoured.

On this occasion, the Governor said that Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana has been launched  by the  Prime Minister. She said that this scheme will be helpful in fulfilling the dreams of the countrymen, taking them on the path of self-reliance, making the lives of people happy and creating a better future and employment opportunities for the youth. She described this scheme as a good effort towards poverty alleviation. She said that this will develop the rural economy and along with respecting the artisans of traditional skills, Indian culture will also be preserved.

Describing the  Prime Minister as a true follower of Vishwakarma, the Governor said that today efforts are being made to honor skills in the country. She said that to make this century India’s century, it is very important that the youth of India should be equally proficient in skills along with education. Therefore, the government has given top priority to skill development of youth and creation of new institutions.

Discussing the implementation of the new education policy by Lucknow University, the entrepreneurship conference run by the Institute of Management and Tourism, jute production training and organizing various types of skill development programs, the Governor said that the departments of the university are making efforts to make the students self-reliant. Skill development and vocational training courses have been included in the curriculum, which is commendable.

Praising the cultural program presented by the children of Umeed Sanstha, the Governor said that it is a virtuous act that the children have left beggary and started taking education. The Governor said that admission of such children in school is an achievement. She said that everyone should get education. It is also mentioned in our Constitution that education should be provided to all. She expressed happiness over the adoption of such children by Lucknow University.

Expressing happiness over the success of the recent G-20 meeting, the Governor said that the Prime Minister is making continuous efforts to take India forward on the theme of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. She said that if such programs continue to be conducted in this direction in the future, there is no power that can stop India from becoming a world leader.

The Governor said that every person should fulfill his responsibilities and responsibilities 100 percent. She encouraged every student of the university to do various social activities apart from education.

On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University Professor Alok Kumar Rai, Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Sangeeta Sahu, Superintendent Prof. DK Singh, Dean of Arts Faculty Prof. Arvind Awasthi and other teachers, children and students from Umeed Sansthan were present.
