Lucknow: The preparations for the Yogi swearing-in in Lucknow have started in full swing. More than 150 vertical gardens and more than 5,000 flower pots have been planted on Shaheed Path and its service lane. The entire city is being decorated and a spectacular sight will be seen on March 25 when Yogi Adityanath will take oath for a second term in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers, Chief Ministers and other dignitaries. The 16-km stretch of Shaheed Path from the airport to the stadium is being prepared on a war footing.
Roads are being repaired, grills are being painted, trees are being cut and graffiti and propaganda messages are being removed. Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development Department, Rajnish Dubey said that all the street lights are on and equipped with colored LED strips keeping in view the movement of VIPs.
A team of Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) officials inspected all street lights on the road parallel to the river Gomti and connecting Shaheed Path to Janeshwar Mishra Park in Gomti Nagar. To ensure solid waste management, the stadium has been divided into 10 zones, each headed by a senior official.
Around 27,000 chairs have been set up on the ground, while the stands have a seating capacity of 50,000 spectators. Apart from 80 toilets, the LMC is also installing 27 mobile toilets in the stadium complex, out of which 16 will be reserved for VIPs and state guests. Apart from deploying 400 sanitation workers in the stadium from Friday, the corporation will install dustbins.
